Architect, artist + designer, Mishou Sanchez was born in 1976, in Tampa,
Florida, to ethnically diverse parents + raised by her mother +
grandparents. Mishou was born artistic + her mechanical inclinations were
catalyzed by her beloved grandfather, Emilio Gonzalez. He would spend
hours in his woodshop + garden, teaching her how to use tools,
experimenting with splicing citrus trees + growing vegetables. During her
childhood, she lived in Jamaica, Venezuela + spent many summers in her
mother's country, Costa Rica. It’s because of this early influence in
knowing the importance + influence of cultural diversity, Mishou has
traveled to over 18 countries + 139 cities. Due to her diverse cultural
roots, she seamlessly melds many influences harmoniously.
Living in her hometown, she branched off on her own + started her own
architecture/design consulting firm
named Evolve Form Inc. where she is
developing green cargotecture housing
made from recycled shipping containers. She is also is planning a trip to
Darfur, Sudan, to consult on the construction of her hospital design.
Mishou can be found in her quiet home hidden in the suburban forest named
“El Laboratorio.” She maintains an active painting studio + woodshop and
occasionally shows her paintings at local galleries.
